Updates

Well I wish I could say that I have been busy, but I really haven't! Life has been AMAZING and so relaxing! It's so awesome to have a break from school and work and just chill for awhile. I'm soaking it all in before I start my new job on the 18th. So just to update a little, first of all, because of the unnecessary (in my opinion), media-driven panic over the swine flu, our cruise line decided to cancel all stops in Mexico through June 15! So we had 3 stops planned there and they were re-routing our cruise to Canada. LAME! We would love to see Canada, but we wanted to go to the beach in Mexico and soak up the sun! This was pretty upsetting news and so we looked into paying extra to go on a Caribbean cruise, but most of them were filled up really fast and we would have had to pay a lot more. So the long story is that we decided to keep the credit for our cruise and hopefully re-book for December. It all depends on school and work, but that is the plan. Since we still had a flight to L.A., we decided to take advantage and now we're going to go to Cali for the week! Not quite as good as Mexico, but we're going to hit Disneyland, CA Adventure, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, and a few beaches. It will be great fun and we're really excited to celebrate my graduation and our 1 year anniversary (May 20)!

Dan and I both finished up school and we passed all our classes (there were a few close calls)! I can officially say that I'm a college graduate and I feel pretty much the same, but I am proud of the accomplishment. My parents and sister and Dan's parents came up for the graduation and we all went to Maddox afterwards! It was a great day and fun to spend time with our families. I'm so relieved to have school behind me and to move forward and start a new job! We're still searching for an apartment, but hopefully something will work out soon for us. Life is good and we are blessed and happy!!!

Swine Flu???

Well if any of you are watching the news, you will notice that there is quite a big hub-bub about the swine flu. It started in Mexico, killing a lot of people, and it has moved and has been found in several states in the U.S. and across the world. All the cases in the U.S. so far have been minor and no one has died, but it's pretty bad in Mexico and schools are cancelled and people are wearing masks and staying inside. It's pretty crazy and being that Dan and I are scheduled to go on a Mexican cruise in about 12 days, it has gotten me just a bit worried.

I don't want to overreact or anything, but it is a cause for concern and we still want to go on our cruise and do fun shore excursions in Mexico! I have done a lot of research and asked our travel agent about it and for now, U.S. officials aren't saying not to go to Mexico. That could change, and it's still risky, but I'm not sure what will happen now! Hopefully things get better and it's not a big deal for us to go, but it still worries me!

Our cruise is offering to waive our cancellation fee if we re-book another cruise within the year. And our flight is waiving cancellation fees as well. So that is somewhat of a relief that if we couldn't go, we could still go another time or not lose money over it. But still, we really have been looking forward to this for so long and we can't wait! I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens, but for today, we are still headed to Mexico!!

Glasses

I'm kind of going on a blogging spree today, but I just got my long-awaited new glasses and I'm so excited. I took some pictures on my webcam (mostly for my mom who will want pictures). That's why the pictures look a little weird. But these glasses were 20 bucks each on zennioptical.com! And that is paying extra for my super terrible vision! It includes lenses and the frames range from $8-$40 or so. There are tons of cute and crazy glasses and I'm really excited about them!! Check it out!

Fun in the Sun

Dan and I were able to go to St. George this past weekend to spend a little time in the sun and get revved up for finals. My parents drove down there with us and Steph met us there since she just lives in Cedar City. We had a really good time and it was great to lay by the pool and relax in the sun!
The St. George temple is really beautiful and it reminded me of the Logan temple!
We all went bowling and it was a blast. Of course I dominated! :)
We tried to go rock climbing but the places we wanted to go were closed for turtle preservation! Weird...so we just climbed around on the rocks and had a good time.Notice the sign "stay on designated trails"...with Steph and Dan in the background climbing around! Haha

I downloaded Picasa by google and it has some really cool features. I made these cute collages of all the pictures I took down in St. George. I'm not sure if I prefer the collages on the blog or individual pictures. Let me know your opinion on the matter....
You can click on the collage to open it in a bigger view as well.
Good times!

Hoppy Easter!

Easter was a lot of fun and we were able to do an Easter egg hunt with Danny's family on Saturday evening then have a delicious Easter dinner on Sunday with my family. Watching the kids hunt for Easter eggs was so much fun and I take so many pictures of them, it's like they're my kids! But I love them and have a blast with them.

Unloading all the Easter eggs into the baskets (with the help of Grandma).Isn't she darling?! Sarah is so funny and tiny and just a doll. I love her huge brown eyes! She ate so much chocolate, I couldn't believe it! Then on Easter Sunday she got into Emily's and ate all of Emily's chocolate too!

All the cute kiddles lined up after getting all their Easter eggs outside.

They just couldn't wait to get outside and find all the eggs!

Apartment Hunt!

I HATE looking for apartments! This is going to be the death of me. We are planning on moving to the Ogden area at the end of April or beginning of May when I graduate. We have a few requirements, but I honestly don't think it's too much to ask to have a dishwasher and washer/dryer hookups! The hardest thing is that we need to find a place with a 6 month lease or less because we want to buy a house, but very few places offer that. So I have been hunting for apartments for probably the past 2 1/2 months with no success! This is killing me and I hate not knowing what's going on and where we're going to live! I don't know what we're going to do, but I'm sure things will work out, I just hate apartment hunting!

That's about all I have to say, I just needed to vent a little....

Family

A few weeks ago, my parents and sister met Dan and I at Maddox in Brigham City (YUM!!!). We had a delicious lunch, then they drove up to Logan and we had some ice cream at this cute place called Caspers. It was a blast and fun to finally see my sister since I hadn't seen her since Christmas because she's been playing basketball down at SUU! We had a good time.
