Family

A few weeks ago, my parents and sister met Dan and I at Maddox in Brigham City (YUM!!!). We had a delicious lunch, then they drove up to Logan and we had some ice cream at this cute place called Caspers. It was a blast and fun to finally see my sister since I hadn't seen her since Christmas because she's been playing basketball down at SUU! We had a good time.

Unbelievable

Okay everyone, so I just posted last night at about 10:00pm and already some loser at my work (I'm sure it was my old awful boss) has read my post (does he have nothing better to do???) and added an immature comment. So.....because of that, I have decided to go private. I really never thought I would go private because I don't care if people read about my relatively boring life, but I just want negative people like that out of my life and I really don't want to be continually reminded of people like him because of lame comments like that. I know what I did was right and the situation was handled inappropriately and now all I can do is move on with my life to bigger and better things.

So please please PLEASE send me your email so I can add you to our private blog! Even if I don't know you that well, or we haven't talked since high school, still email me! I always feel weird emailing someone who's blog I read occasionally but I'm not good friends with them or anything. But I won't feel weird if you email me, so email me at: superwoman_200@msn.com. Sorry for the immature email address, but it's my 2nd email so if I get spam or something, it goes there! Anyway, more to come!

Movin' on up...

Well a lot has happened to us in the past few weeks, and unfortunately this post won't include any exciting pictures. But I do have a few to post later. Most of you already know, but for those who don't, I lost my job a few weeks ago. It sounds bad, but it's really a great blessing and it has been wonderful. I have worked for a software developing company for the past 2 years and it has been a great learning experience for me. I gained so much experience and for the most part, I enjoyed it. I was blessed to be able to work from home up here in Logan for the past year and half while going to school. That was awesome and I'm grateful for that.

Anyway, to keep it short, technically I was "laid off", but basically it was a moral battle that I lost. I stood up for something I thought was important and right and things that I felt strongly about, and because of that, I was let go. My old manager (who was amazing) left the company for another job and the new manager (who didn't want to be there and wasn't managing us) was treating our department and me especially really awful. I still can't believe that people can treat others as badly as he has and especially in a work environment. It was sad and I tried to talk to others in the company about it and although everyone was on my side, the big man in charge didn't like it and now here I am. I knew that when I decided to stand up for what was right that because of the way the company was run, that I could very well be fired. But I tend to still fight for things I think are right and so I didn't back down and because of that I was fired.

But....things definitely worked out for the best! Even though it was hard and upsetting to have it actually happen and to go through all that, I learned a lot and now I have a great little vacation before I start a new job in May! Way back in December I got offered a great job in the IT department at the Flying J Headquarters in Ogden. I accepted it and it was only a matter of time before I quit my old job. So basically I just have a lot more time to focus on finishing up school and to relax! So if you didn't figure it out by now, Dan and I will be moving to Ogden in about a month! I will graduate May 2 and we should move around then. To be honest, Ogden is not my favorite place, but the job is great and our plan is to move into an apartment for a few months then buy a house! Woo hoo! I can't wait to get a house and I made up my mind about a year ago that I would be living in a house 2 years from then. My roommates thought I was a little weird, but it's just a goal I've had and luckily Dan shares it with me! Right now is a great time to buy so hopefully we can find a cute place near my job (Kaysville, Syracuse, or surrounding cities). We'll also be closer to family which will be awesome. Dan will probably transfer to WSU and find a new job down there.

We will definitely be sad to leave Logan and Dan has really grown to love it even though he hated it at first! Logan has been a great place to live and even though it was only 30 degrees today (March 26...), I could live here for the rest of my life and be happy! It's beautiful and quiet and I love it! But it doesn't have quite the same job market as Salt Lake area so we're hitting the road.

Well this has been too long and I never write long blog posts, I usually just post way too many pictures. Anyway, now the 3 people who read my blog (1 of which didn't already know about all this) can be filled in our lives and know what we're up to. I'm nervous to move and change and start a "real" job, and I won't know what to do with myself after I graduate, but I'm also excited! We have a great life and it will only get better! I'm so happy that I have Dan to share it with me and help me through it all!!

Crusin'!

Dan and I have decided to go on a cruise! Woo hoo! We had been talking about doing something fun after I graduate in May and so we booked a cruise. Neither one of us have been on one before and we're really stoked! We're going May 10-18 and it's Mexican Rivieria Cruise to Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta. It leaves from Long Beach. The ship is brand new and it looks awesome! We can't wait and it will be such an awesome break to celebrate graduation and our anniversary. Any cruise tips or advice would also be appreciated. :)

V-Day

My husband is so funny and cute. For Valentines, while I was in the shower at my parent's house, he put all these treats and a card on the bed. I'm kind of obsessed with cherry hearts and they only sell them around Valentine's Day, so he got me enough to last awhile! This card is so hilarious. I laughed really hard and my parents loved it.
Dan also got me some beautiful red tulips but I didn't take a picture of those. He's the greatest husband in the world and my best friend! I'm so lucky to have him and he makes me so happy! I can't imagine my life without him. Mwah!

Baby Thad!

So my best friend Shelley had her baby! Thad was born on February 11 at 4:48pm. He's a doll and it's so weird for me to see Shelley with a baby! We have known each other forever and she is like my sister. I seriously feel like an aunt!!Me, Bre, Shell and Thad. Teresa (Bre's mom), Bre and I with the babe.

Random Stuff

I know I haven't posted forever, but no one reads this thing anyway :). Life is crazy busy but we are halfway through the semester! Woo hoo! Here are few random things from the past few weeks: This is a quail or woodpecker or some strange bird that was sleeping in my sister-in-laws porch. It was so weird and when we walked by it, it started flying and going crazy. It was stuck in their little porch area for about 5 minutes just flapping around. Then it finally figured out how to fly out and it flew into the night. Weird.

Has anyone ever heard of Carhartt brand? For some reason, my husband became obsessed with Cal-Ranch stores and he really wanted some of these pants. Kind of sick if you ask me. I'm not sure why he likes them so much, but he said he would never want anything ever again, so I gave in. They are pretty nasty, but he loves them. I just hope he doesn't wear them in public. People like this usually wear Carhartts. My husband loves it. The weird thing is he's not a cowboy or country boy at all! But I guess that's what living in Cache Valley does for you....Here he is demonstrating his beloved Carhartts.

And finally, Dan decided to have a banana split for dinner. Perfect.
